I am convinced the only good thing about living in the Midwest is the turning of the leaves in the fall.
It's my favorite thing ever and I have Mike drive me down country roads when the leaves are all different colors so I can stare out the window and soak in the variegated colors.
Would you celebrate the turning leaves with me?
I was going to create a new limited edition batch with these findings but honestly, I'm tired. So I only made this one set. The leaf is a reproduction stamping that contains beautiful detailing of leaf veins. I heat treated the brass until it turned colors then applied the bittersweet orange patina. An aggressive sanding and a thorough sealing gives us this life like leaf in Autumns golden orange.
The 24" copper chain is variegated with yellow turning to orange turning to brown. It's gorgeous!
I want someone to have it and make something wonderful with it.
Please leave a comment and include your name so I can draw it next Sunday!
Happy Autumn!
I love to look at all the leaves turning too ^_^ Fall has to be my favorite season not to hot, but not to cold. Please enter me in the drawing ^_^
ReplyDeleteHappy Beading,
Jessica

ReplyDeletethis is very lovely, i'm so excited Fall might be on the way..sometime off still for us on the 3rd coast. :(
oh and i wanted to thank you for the post about shipping(again)it inspired me to organize a shipping area which really helped speed up the process, which is never the favorite thing in the process
That's gorgeous! I'd love to make something with it!
ReplyDeletePLEEEEEASE put my name in the hat! So pretty. Thanks for you generosity Shannon!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous set and I can already visualize a beautiful necklace made with them! I am very ready for fall, but we don't have the beautiful colors that you have in the Midwest.
ReplyDeleteShannon the findings at absolutely freaking gorgeous! I love the detailing of the leaf and the colors are scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteI am with you about living in the midwest - the chaning of the leaves in the fall. This is the only time I really like living in the midwest - the cooler temps and the fall colors. I might talk mom into going to Turkey Run (state park) so we can take photos this fall.
Fall is the very best sort of color symphony, isn't it? That is what I love about living in Wisconsin. I might not like all the seasons (hating biter cold and piles of snow taller than you are, who's with me?) but Autumn is truly God's masterpiece. Every day it is a bit different and if you blink you might miss the colors and the leaves themselves. You will pass a full tree one day of brilliant crimson or golden yellow, and then the next day it has shivered once and all the covering is on the ground, left only with darkened and wispy fingers reaching toward the gray sky as if it were a cashmere blanket. So lovely this set is. The possibilities are magical.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your talents, Miss Shannon!
Enjoy the day!
Erin
One of the things I miss most about the upper midwest is the glorious fall leaves. When I was a little girl, our last camping trip of the year was up on the Missisppi in NE Iowa. That trip was timed to take in the fall colour of the maples and oaks up there. I can clearly see the yellows, oranges, deep and bright crimson. I'd almost fogotten. Thanks for reminding me!
ReplyDeleteOhhh its so very beautiful! Such a wonderul give~away! Please count me in! I miss the beautiful fall colours of Virginia and you dont see much in Houston. But this year I will give it a shot and drive out onto the country and see what I may see. Your necklace is quite beautiful and wouldnt that be wonderful to Win. Thank you for the chance Shannon! ox
ReplyDeleteI am also an autumn girl. Looove to go for long walks among trees when the leaves has fallen. Oh, it smells so nice. Also like to go in tnhe car and just look out the window and see all the colours.
ReplyDeleteI learned only last year that it is the rate of fall that determines how strong the colours of the leaves end up. Something like: quick temperature fall, and the chlorophyll disappears fast and leaves a lot of the other colours visable, or the other way around, can't remember the details. Does anyone else know?
Please put my name in the draw for your wonderful necklace.
i agree shannon - it is my favorite season actually... while i kind of mourn the summer being over and the kids not having homework, i feel revitalized in autumn and want to notice every second of it... your work is stunning and it certainly would be a treasure for any lucky winner...
ReplyDeletehope the change in season helps to recharge your batteries a bit as well...

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this opportunity to win one of your special leaves.
I would love autumn if it was sunny and a bit cooler than summer. But as soon as the heat has left us over here, the weather turned into this cold and rainy
ReplyDelete60F dark grey sky thing. And I do not like this. If I would win your giveaway I could have a piece of the sunny autumn though. Wouldn't that be great? Thanks for sharing shannon, your pieces are beautiful.

I love, love the fall. The heat from summer is leaving, the leaves are changing into wonderful reds, yellows, oranges, there is a chill in the air, football comes back! Love it.
ReplyDeleteLove your necklace. Please enter me in the drawing.
Yes, Autumn is a magical season...who doesn't look forward to all of the leaves changing colour! Count me in, pretty please :-)
ReplyDeleteThat leaf is a perfect reflection of the autumn colors and crisp feeling in the air. Here in central Wis. the reds and yellows are already peeking out, a forerunner of the black, grey, and white to follow. But it's the here and now and we love it! That leaf has stirred up a strong desire to have it and wear it, just saying... Thank you for working so hard, again, Shannon! You put your heart and soul into each item.
ReplyDeleteOh...I'd love to have the leaf! After all fall is my favorite time of year...except for having to rake the leaves. I
ReplyDeleteGorgeous leaf, I'd love to enter to win it. I am enjoying reading your blog, thank you!
