That's right, I roll old and crusty.
Do you like my t-shirt? It's a Radio Shack t-shirt that Mike brought home for himself (the selfish bastard, he knows I do not have any clothes) but I took it because I like to dress like Seth Rogan in Zack and Miri make a Movie when I work. It's comfortable and nothing gets twisted in the dremel.
I have the most amazing collection of jewelry; handcrafted, artisan, antique and even some precious set stones from Grandmothers. But I never wear it. I just collect. My life style is such that there is no opportunity to wear jewelry. Isn't that strange?
You make me feel good. I hoard lovely sparkly and even crusty bits of jewelry but hardly ever have the place to wear it. Gimme a t shirt and track pants and that's my day to day fashion.
ReplyDeletetotally understandable... i think it is like the plumber with the leaky sink! and i have only hole-y jeans and tees too - i think they suspect i am a hobo at the kids' schools!!
ReplyDeleteif i didn't have a day job i'd never get dressed. on weekends i will finally look at myself around 3:00 and discover my shirt is on inside out. it's the shirt i slept in. inside out.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of these chains all together!
ReplyDeleteThose of us who work at home are lucky to be able to wear what we want, eh? It's when I go to some place more sophisticated, like New York City, that I feel underdressed no matter what I wear. That's when I'm really glad to have a good collection of jewelry to choose from.
If no one were looking, I'd drape myself in faux fur and pile on the jewels and strut around the house pretending I'm a diva. A diva wearing old stretchy crop pants and a holey tee under the fur. Ha!
ReplyDeleteHehehe you guys are funny and just like me! I often look like a hobo. I figure it is a public service since my appearance makes others feel good about their own looks! A self esteem builder for other people! :-)
ReplyDeleteI do try and look normal if I'm going to wear some of my jewelry in public though. It sells better that way.
Love the Bling Shannon! I could so get into wearing some of that. You make the greatest patina's I ever seen!
Nope not strange at all, from all the comments left, I'm glad to know I'm in similar company of Tees and jogger bottoms and nowhere to wear my jewellery.
ReplyDeleteAnd like Barbar said its when I go to London City I feel even more underdressed regardless of what I am wearing, ah! well thats life, at least I am comfortable :)
It's an artist's privilege to dress shabby! My mother is always aligning my stuff to a hobo, for which I thank her, I prefer the dishevelled look. Having said that though I do make it a part of my day to get dressed- sure my tshirt might have a hole in it and my skirt needs that tear mending (again) but hey, at least I'm dressed! With shoes and everything.
ReplyDeleteI usually look like the rag picker's child. Messy, but comfortable. I have loads of jewelry I never wear...lovely rings, pearls, some nice stuff. I either end up wearing stuff I've made myself, or no jewelry at all so we're in the same boat.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I am not the only one!
ReplyDeleteWe should start a Hobo Crafters Group. We could be street performers dressed in our hobo clothes crafting the most exquisite things with our hands!
I love wearing old shirts whenever I'm working on a project--so comfy, and I know they won't get in my way. Lovely necklace, by the way, I'm in a really rainbow mood at the moment!
ReplyDeleteHi Shannon, that's so funny that you make jewelry but have no place to wear your pieces. I was like that until last year. I just decided to treat myself no matter how much guilt I felt.
ReplyDeleteI love this crusty bling necklace. Sooooo cool
