- Just because things grow easy here, doesn't mean you suddenly know how to landscape.
- You shouldn't bring home EVERYTHING you find washed up on shore. Some things have died in hidden places and you do not find it until the smell begins to infect the air around you.
- People living in the rest of the world DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, want to hear how fantastic the weather is here.
- Just as lots of sun does not make you a skilled gardener, so too, does a bikini not make you a supermodel.
- Great friends are actually rather easy to come by.
- Mike may be enjoying his new pool too much.

BAAHAAABAABAAA I love it! I still want to keep hearing how happy you all are and how great this move was for you! Your happiness is the best to hear when I have all this craziness going on!
ReplyDeleteYou have instantly adjusted and nailed it all right on the head. You haven't seen my jungle of a backyard yet...I have a real knack for growing weeds and invasive vines...
ReplyDeleteAnd the bikini thing, one thing I learned is that no matter if you wear one or not, there WILL be someone looking worse or better in theirs so all the more reason to join in the party!
Interesting observations, Shannon! You can always get help with your landscaping and gardening. I tried a lasagna garden this year, everything is still alive! But no actual lasagna! I think it's reassuring to know that the weather is gorgeous SoMeWHeRe! Do you have lots of foliage around your pool? LOL Keep counting your blessings and remember that every grain of sand dropping through the hour glass covers up the bad stuff! Good one, huh!
ReplyDeleteI sort of like hearing about the weather:)
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess it depends on what you consider fantastic weather! ;) For me, the tropics is not fantastic weather, because I grew up there and hated the heat! However, those beautiful days in the low 80's and the tropical breeze and sunshine....yeah I'll take a couple days of that, on the beach!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are enjoying your new life in Florida! But Mike....dude! Really? Heh.
Lol..what else would a pool be for but to over enjoy it. ;-)
ReplyDeletea friend ,horticulturist told me whatever the indicated size range on a plant..it will get larger than that if you live in a tropical area.
like the Pothos ivy, normally an indoor plant..grew 20'into my tree with leaves the size of placemats.
I have had the same experience with my beach treasures. Those little critters can be quite stinky! You tell Mike..who needs a suit anyway! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI'm a horrid gardener. But I do manage to keep my lemon tree and herb garden alive. Everything else either dies instantly or tries to take over the entire yard within a week. Don't forget, you now have to deal with yard work year-round. (still better than shoveling snow, though!)

What a life eh?! We live in Houston and Galvestons about 1 and 1/2 hrs away. We should go there more really, but they way out of H town is like an obstacle course. But I need to bypass that and just go anyway! I want tiny shells and glass!! The ground here is rock hard and clayish so we have to add soil whenever we plant anything. Def a challenge to garden here. We never get rain almost. I hope yall do rain helps these gorgeous flowers grow. Shine on Shannon xx
ReplyDeleteJust a joke post! Really! There is no perfect weather and everyone is suited to something different. We just run into a lot of people who do not like to hear about our constant fun in the sun and I simply made a joke about it.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about Florida! Honey, I really hear you about the landscaping issue! Mom helps me out A LOT because I hate it. Glad you all are having a wonderful time!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed hanging out with you and your family and hope we can all become great friends too :) Looking forward to the next time!
ReplyDeleteWe all want each other to do well, but if someone's doing TOO well, we can't stand it!
ReplyDeleteThis was so funny.
Oh wow!!! Pool + sunshine = jealous Rebecca!!
ReplyDeleteToo funny. Maybe you should just take a cue from Mike and skip the bikini :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, I love Florida. And I love to hear about your fun in the sun. We get 1 day a week of sun here in Chicago it seems. Bring on the sun pictures and stories!! Well, not the smelly ones... Cheers, Kathy
ReplyDeleteI think if we owned a pool my husband would hide all the bathing suits. Enjoy :-)
ReplyDeleteLol.....
